Baudouin Marine Propulsion for M/S Scorpios

M/S SCORPIOS is a 52-meter luxury sailing yacht launched by Radez / Tramontana Yachts, powered by Baudouin engines supplied by Bluepower D.O.O. in Croatia.

This case study highlights the yacht’s design, onboard features, and technical specifications, while emphasizing the contribution of Baudouin engines in delivering reliable performance, efficiency, and smooth operation at sea.

SCORPIOS combines timeless elegance with modern luxury. The yacht features premium amenities including a beach club, jacuzzi, and a wide selection of water sports equipment.

Designed to offer both comfort and sophistication, she accommodates up to 12 guests across six refined staterooms. The interior design is defined by bright, open living spaces, herringbone wood flooring, and soft neutral tones, creating a warm and contemporary atmosphere.

Her striking exterior profile, characterized by a dark hull and sleek lines, gives SCORPIOS a bold and distinctive presence on the water.

Powered by two Baudouin 6M26.3 SCR propulsion engines, each delivering 750 horsepower at 2100 RPM, SCORPIOS achieves a cruising speed of 10 knots and a maximum speed of 14 knots.
These engines are recognized for their reliability, fuel efficiency, and compliance with stringent environmental regulations.
Thanks to advanced SCR technology, nitrogen oxide emissions are significantly reduced, allowing the yacht to comply with IMO III standards while ensuring smooth and efficient propulsion for long-distance cruising.

The SCR technology integrated into the Baudouin engines reduces NOx emissions through the injection of a urea-based solution into the exhaust stream, converting harmful emissions into harmless nitrogen and water vapor.

Beyond environmental benefits, this system also contributes to lower combustion-related noise levels, enhancing onboard comfort and delivering a quieter sailing experience. The SCR system enables compliance with IMO III, EPA Tier 4, and EU Stage V emissions standards.

Designed with compact dimensions and flexible integration capabilities, the Baudouin propulsion package allows seamless installation within the yacht’s propulsion line.

This flexibility makes the engines suitable for both new-build projects and repowering applications, while offering multiple mounting configurations to adapt to various vessel designs.

The collaboration between Bluepower D.O.O. and Tramontana Yachts, supported by Baudouin’s advanced propulsion technology, demonstrates the successful combination of engineering performance and luxury yacht design.

SCORPIOS stands out in the luxury sailing yacht segment through its balance of timeless aesthetics, modern onboard technologies, environmental responsibility, and passenger comfort, all reinforced by the dependable performance of Baudouin engines.
